ODM women want fairness in party electoral process

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) women leaders want to be involved in electoral process within the party organs to ensure they are not sidelined in the coming grass root and general elections.

They raised concerns over the manner in which women have in the past been denied seats during nominations and instead awarded to male counterparts who the party perceive to be 'popular'.

Addressing the media in Kisumu, ODM Women League National Chair Betty Syengo said they have been drafting an action plan to address electoral challenges they have experienced in past two general elections.

Kisumu Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga said she will contest for governor's seat and expect the ground to be levelled to accommodate women.
