ODM shifts focus to Kajiado Central after Homa Bay win

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has now shifted its might and resources to capture the Kajiado Central parliamentary seat.

ODM, which won the Homa Bay senatorial seat through Moses Kajwang', has told the Jubilee Alliance Party (JAP) to prepare for an epic political duel.

Director of Elections Junet Mohamed said the Kajiado Central seat is theirs and they will do anything within their means and power to ensure its candidate Elijah Memusi carries the day.

"We campaigned vigorously for our candidate in Homa Bay and he won with a big margin. We shall also do the same in Kajiado Central and ensure that our candidate wins. This will be a political showdown," said Junet.

Memusi (ODM) will battle it out with Patrick Tutui (JAP) in a political contest that could herald a new beginning for President Uhuru Kenyatta who will use the party in seeking re-election in 2017.

In the meantime, a Nairobi politician Francis Mwangi has jumped ship to JAP and declared that he will camp out in Kajiado Central in a marathon campaign to ensure Tutui delivers the seat.

"We are ready to marshal the necessary resources and efforts to enable President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto deliver the Kajiado Central seat through JAP. The Kajiado Central contest is a two horse race and we are confident JAP will deliver the seat," Mwangi said Sunday.
