Discontent in Jubilee played itself out

Nicholas Cheruiyot

The presence of discontent in the Jubilee coalition was confirmed during the tour of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto in the Rift Valley recently. Disillusioned Kenyans opted for primitive shouting marches at the rallies to express their sentiments.

It took the fervent implorations by local leaders to stop the tension from flaring up. It is only those who live in denial who cannot accept that despite the entire facade, all is not well in Jubilee.  It is a very sad thing. A wrangle-ridden Government cannot be expected to deliver much. Either way, President Kenyatta and Mr Ruto have some homework to do if they intend to keep their coalition rolling for the remaining part of this term.

Forget the envisaged 20 years Jubilee reign. That’s tall order indeed given the signs of estrangement between URP and TNA.
