Kenya has made steady progress towards increased family planning uptake. The number of women using modern contraception has increased from 4.04 million in 2012 to 6.14 million in 2021, according to FP 2030.

Statistics from the WHO's Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights; an infographic snapshot 2021, indicate that uptake of modern contraception method is at 56.4 per cent; unmet need for family planning for women of reproductive age is at 15 per cent, yet awareness of modern contraception method is at 98 per cent.
