Kapsabet Boys: Where President elect William Ruto honed leadership skills

Kenya's fifth President elect William Ruto.

Kapsabet Boys boasts a rich, unique history. It was founded in 1925 as part of the Government African Schools. Actually, it was called Government African School, Kapsabet, and was for the longest time.

The provincial school was upgraded to national level, and not because of its reputation for excelling excellence in maths, the sciences and being a power house in athletics and basketball. Since 2007, Kapsabet Boys has maintained a mean grade of B+ and in 2010 it had a mean score of 96.55 per cent with 202 students scoring grade C+. Only four students failed to score university marks! Little wonder it was declared overall winners in the 2011 National Mathematics contest.
