Man accused of defiling his two daughters arrested in Kisii

A man alleged to have defiled his two daughters when their mother was in custody for flouting Covid-19 regulations has been arrested.

He is being held at Kiogoro Police station in Kisii County for allegedly committing the offence against his two daughters aged 12 and 14 on Sunday night at his home in the Nyataro area.

The man is alleged to have done this while his wife was away after being arrested during a police swoop on people not wearing face masks earlier in the day.

Confirming the incident, Kisii County Police Commander Kingori Macharia said that the police are currently carrying out further investigations before the suspect is taken to court to answer charges of defiling his two young daughters.

“The suspect is currently in police custody and we are carrying out some investigations before he is arraigned in court,” said Macharia.

The police boss said that the two girls have already undergone medical tests which showed that they had been defiled and the suspect is set to appear in court where he will face charges of defiling the two minors in an incident that has left villagers shocked.

Macharia expressed concern over the rising numbers of defilement cases in the area adding that they were working closely with national government administrators to ensure all people involved in the vices are brought to justice to serve as a lesson to others.

He appealed to family members to desist from getting involved in out of court settlements which have contributed to the increase of cases because the culprits would walk away scot-free despite being known to have committed the heinous crime in their respective communities.

“We are going to ensure that we no longer have cases of defilement in Kisii County by working closely with various stakeholders to ensure that all girls and women are safe,” said Macharia.
