Kisii Central Sub County Police Commander (SCPC) Simon Gababa collapsed and died in his car early today morning.

Senior Superintendent of Police Gababa had made a distress call to his driver Corporal Abel Ondora to go pick him from his room at the Kenya Institute Of Highways and Building Technology Kisii Campus.

The driver was to drop him at one of the private Hospitals in Kisii town but by the time the driver arrived at the Institute's parking pay, Gababa had collapsed and died.

Gababa (pictured above), 58, was trying to start the engine of his private car and to drive himself to hospital.

Moments before he died he had communicated to one of the senior security officers in the county and they were to meet before noon.

Kisii County Commander Jebel Munene said the deceased had been ailing since Thursday and had sought medication at one of the hospitals in town.

"We have consulted with those in the health department and agreed that they will do necessary tests and give us the results by Sunday evening."

His body was moved to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue.
