Daniel Mogaka Ondimu (right) was on Tuesday arraigned over the murder of 17-year-old Elvinah Moracha at Kenyenya in Bomachoge Borabu on September 25 last year.

Ondimu appeared before Ogembo Resident Magistrate Gloria Barasa where the investigative officer sought one more day to conduct a DNA test on the suspect.

Ondimu was arrested in Nairobi last Friday after an 11-month search by detectives. On February 5 this year, a couple - Laban Nyaata and his wife Nancy Bochere - appeared before Justice David Majanja where they pleaded not guilty to killing Elvinah.

They were remanded at the Kisii GK Prison and on February 26, they were released on a bond of Sh300,000 and a surety of a similar amount each. Elvinah, a KCSE candidate, was murdered and her body dumped in a fish pond near her Mariba village home.
