Leaders call for full probe into Philip Godana's death

Upper Eastern leaders have called for a probe into the murder of former Moyale MP, Philip Godana.

Sunday, led by county Governor Ukur Yattani and his Isiolo counterpart Godana Doyo called on the government to get the killers and establish the motive.

"His death is suspicious. We do not attribute it to the normal urban crime. The Government must investigate this angle. We have lost many Borana leaders in Nairobi and we are yet to be told who killed them," said a Sololo resident who identified himself as Guyo.

"We condole with the family of the late MP who was a personal friend," said Doyo on phone from Mombasa.

Senators Abubakar Harugura (Marsabit), his Isiolo counterpart Mohammed Kuti as well as MPs Ali Rasso (Saku), Tiyah Galgalo (Isiolo County), Roba Duba (Moyale) sent their condolences and they, too demanded for action to be taken.

His death comes after that of former area MP Guyo Liban, who was gunned down in Moyale town by assassins in November while he was heading back home from prayers.
