KRA intercepts uncustomed ethanol worth Sh15 million

Officials from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) have intercepted two trucks ferrying 288 drums of uncustomed ethanol worth Sh15 million in Loitokitok, Kajiado County.

In a statement to newsrooms on Monday, KRA said the two trucks were ferrying a total of 250 litres [72,000 litres] with a tax implication of Sh35 million. T

"The trucks' registration numbers were concealed with those of foreign number plates [sic]," said KRA.

The agency warns it is determined to ensure a fair playing ground for lawful businesses.
