List of areas in Kenya to experience electricity outage over next seven days

Several parts of the country including Nairobi, Kajiado, Migori and Kilifi will experience power outage over the next one week.

Kenya Power says this will allow maintenance and upgrade of power lines so that more customers can be connected to the national grid.

The power firm, at the same time, says the interruption will facilitate replacement of power lines destroyed during construction of roads.

On Friday, September 16, between 9am and 5pm, estates within South C in Nairobi County and Kwa Maiko in Kiambu County will experience electricity interruption between 9am and 5pm.

On Saturday, September 17, OTC in Nairobi's central business district, Kitengela and Isinya in Kajiado County, Athi River in Machakos County and Webuye Town in Bungoma County will also experience shortage between 9am and 5pm.

On Sunday, September 18, areas on Enterprise Road, Nairobi and parts of Migori County, including Omboo area, will have power shortage between 10am and 4pm.

On Monday, September 19, parts of Kisumu County such as Kasongo and Ombeyi and parts of Nyamira County including Mogeni Tea Factory, Sanganyi and Ngoina will experience electricity interruption between 9am and 3pm. Also affected on this date will be Maua, Laare, Garbatulla, Kinoru, Magundu, Mpuri, Kirogine and Katheri areas in Meru County.

On Tuesday, September 20, Kibra, Lang'ata, Parklands in Nairobi will face power interruption. On this day, the entire Ndhiwa Town, Ligotho and Miranga in Homa Bay County will also be affected between 9am and 5pm.

Parts of Embu County such as Kanothi Irie Market and Karabachi Market and parts of Uasin Gishu County, including Karona and Tugen estates will, on Tuesday, also experience power cuts between 9am and 5pm.

On Wednesday, September 21, Rusinga Island in Homa Bay County, Muhoroni area in Kisumu County, Nyalgunga and Nyamila in Siaya County, Kiambere in Embu County and Msambweni and Lunga Lunga in Kwale County will experience interrupted power supply between 9am and 5pm.

On Thursday, September 22, Zimmerman and parts of Runda in Nairobi County, Mombasa Road, Nunguni, Sultan Hamud and Salama areas in Makueni County Tarakwa and Kipsombe in Uasin Gishu County, Makini School and Miwani Secondary areas in Kisumu County, Kanyaboli and Gendro in Siaya County will face power cuts between 9am and 5pm.

On Friday, September 23, Kwoyo, Angiya and Kanyawanga areas in Migori County will face interrupted power supply between 10am and 4pm.

On Saturday, September 24, parts of Kikambala in Kilifi County, including EPZ, Kikambala Stage, Vipingo Centre, Kuruwitu Beach and Bar and Sandy Shores area will experience outage between 9am and 5pm.
