Baby found abandoned at City Hall parking lot

A one-year-old baby was on Thursday, October 19,  found abandoned at the City Hall basement parking lot in Nairobi.

According to Customer Care Services Director Lydia Gatheru, the baby was found by a cleaner at the parking lot at around 11 a.m. on Thursday.

“The child was found abandoned at City Hall basement parking by a cleaner, who, with the help of the security guard, took the baby and brought her to the customer service desk,” said Gatheru.

Gatheru told The Standard that they have notified the Nairobi County social services and are waiting for the children's department to come and pick up the baby.

At press time, the reasons for the child's abandonment were unclear.
