A female driver and her son on Saturday evening miraculously escaped death by a whisker after their car was flattened by a shipping container at Syokimau along Mombasa road.
The vehicle was completely crushed after a huge container toppled from a lorry bed and onto their car.
When the first responders turned up at the scene, they were convinced that there was no chance anyone inside the car could have survived.
But to their surprise, there was no one inside the car during the time of the accident after it emerged that the mother and her son had stepped out to do some shopping in the nearby center.
It is understood the lorry driver was also unhurt.
Traffic police later used a crane to lift the container from the car before it was towed away.
