Sarit Centre terror alert is fake

The security alert warning you to stay away from Sarit Centre is fake.

In a statement to newsrooms on Wednesday, The Sarit Centre said its attention has been drawn to a series of Whatsapp messages in circulation regarding an increased police presence around.

The statement said all shoppers and the public should ignore the alert and treat it as “merely gossip”.

“We have not received any specific alert from the authorities regarding heightened state of security at The Sarit Centre.”

The mall administrators will continue to work closely with the police to provide shoppers with a safe and comfortable shopping environment.

“We urge the public to refrain from sharing and forwarding any unverified messages whose only aim is to spread fear,” the statement read.

The mall is open for business.
