All buildings secured, country safe- Interior CS Matiang’i says

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has assured the nation all is well at Dusit complex, Nairobi.

Matiang’i has said that Special Forces have managed to secure all buildings as they continue to monitor the situation.

“I can now report that we have secured all the affected buildings. Security teams have evacuated scores of Kenyans and other nationalities from the buidings,” he said in a press briefing on Tuesday evening.

The CS has also said that President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is seemingly silent has been fully briefed of the situation.

Special Forces continue to observe the situation to keep Kenyans safe and secure.

At least five people have been confirmed dead in the attack that began at 3.00PM thereabout.

One attacker is reported to have blown himself up.
