Police shoot dead five suspected thugs after a long chase

Nairobi, Kenya: Police shoot dead five suspected thugs and recover two rifles, 37 bullets and two cars after a chase outside GSU Training School in Embakasi, Nairobi.

The suspects were in two vehicles when police from special crime prevention unit who had been tipped off started chasing them.

According to Nairobi county police boss Benson Kibue,  they recovered an AK 47, a Mark 3 rifle, 37 bullets, police uniform,  police communication gadget and 2 vehicles that the gun men were using. He said they are investigating to know the source of the weapons.

“We suspect the weapons have been behind some of the robberies we have had in the city,” said Kibue.

One of the vehicles was carrying two of the deceased men who were killed opposite the main gate of the GSU training school along the eastern bypass.

The other 3 men who were in a different car were killed about 200m away.

Nairobi has been experiencing a state of robberies in the past weeks and police attribute this to illegal guns in the wrong guns.
