Governor John Lonyangapuo has warned his new cabinet against corruption, saying he will not spare county officers who fail to perform their duties.

Lonyangapuo said he will conduct a headcount to get rid of ghost workers and defended his decision to suspend some county officers to pave way for an audit.

“I will sack them because I cannot allow them to fail me the way they failed the former governor,” he said.

Ten new executives were sworn in to replace those who were suspended. The governor asked the former CECs to immediately hand over to the current leadership.

The suspended officers have since moved to court to challenge the decision.
