A Kenya-based international research centre has been recognised as a global hub for bee health expertise.
The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) designated the Nairobi-based International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology the first OIE collaborating centre for bee health in the world during its 85th general session.
The centre will now function as a world regional centre for research expertise, standardisation of techniques, and dissemination of knowledge. It will be expected to provide expertise globally.
