Strathmore University men’s handball coach Peter Mwathi says his charges are ready to recapture the Kenya Universities Sports Association (KUSA) games national title.

This came after their 31-29 win over Multimedia University (MMU) during their semi-final encounter in the Nairobi South Conference Kenya University Sports Association (NASOKUSA) play-offs at University of Nairobi Grounds over the weekend.

Commenting after the match, Mwathi said the match was not easy for his charges adding that it was a big challenge.

“The match was not easy as we expected but I thank the boys for the spirited performance. MMU is a good side because they are also taking part in the Kenya Handball Federation national league,” he said.

In the women’s semi-final results, Strathmore overwhelmed Cooperative 27-14 while TUK defeated University of Nairobi 11-10 in another semi-final encounter.

In the Nairobi North conference men’s football, hosts Kenyatta University main campus defeated Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology(JKUAT) 1-0 in the semi-final while KCA suffered a 2-1 defeat from United States International University - Africa in another fixture.

In men’s volleyball, JKUAT defeated Mount Kenya University(MKU) 3-1(25-19,22-25,25-22,25-19) while St Paul’s University beat Kenyatta University main Campus in straight sets (25-15,25-20,25-14).
