Police are investigating an incident in which two bodies were found dumped in a trench in Mbotela, Nairobi.

The male bodies seemed to have been dumped at the site on Sunday morning.

Makadara police boss Nehemiah Langat said the bodies did not have identification documents on them when they were discovered.

Mr Langat said the corpses' hands had been tied with ropes from the back and had deep wounds on the heads.

"One is a man aged 28 and another 35. We are yet to establish who they are or how they were killed. Efforts to identify the bodies are ongoing," he said.

Locals said they suspected the men were guards at a local security firm and may have been killed after they resisted a robbery in their premises.

At the weekend, two other bodies were discovered at the Kedong Ranch in Naivasha.

Meanwhile, a man was found dead in his house in a suspected suicide incident in Jamhuri estate, Nairobi.

The man's wife had travelled on Sunday but when she came back on Monday morning, she found the main door of their house open.

On entering the house, she found the body of her husband hanging from a rope.

Police said they were investigating if the man was hanged.
