When wife abandons you on a weekend

It is Thursday evening, you are caught in the crazy Mombasa Road traffic and it is raining. You are looking forward to a warm meal and good loving when you get home. But wifey has a different idea.

Since Friday is her day off and a long weekend is looming, she has decided to go see her mother. It was all random. You are incensed, but there is nothing you can do. You made peace last week, and you are in no mood to be mad at her.

In the meantime, the rain is pounding outside like no woman’s business. The two radio hosts are annoying and grating your nerves, you turn off the radio. You wonder when you will get home. Needless to say, you spend about three hours in traffic, and you arrive home to a cold house.

Since you are starving, you enter the kitchen and discover the sink is full of dirty dishes. You can’t even find the soap. You look in the fridge to find something to eat and there is only half an ugly cabbage and disheveled carrots. There is one tomato lying in the bottom cubicle.

Why didn’t Carol prepare you for this. You are helpless in the kitchen and you are staring at a very long night. You decide to go out at 11pm to grab some take away. You thought that with marriage, junk food was a thing of the past. But you thought wrong.

You were wrong about many things in marriage. Marriage is not always as it is cracked up to be. There are times you wish you had postponed it. Carol changed so much after marriage.

You go back home to a very cold bed. You are used to her warmth, especially in this rainy season. But tonight, it is you and your pillow. You take the time to think about the various merits of monogamy versus polygamy and you wonder why the hell they banned polygamy.

In the morning, you wake up and the kitchen stinks. But you can’t touch the dishes. Even if you did, you wouldn’t know where to start. You make a mental note to call a cleaning lady the following day. It is too early for your wife to put you through this.

There is a message she is trying to send by going away. Just like that. But what she doesn’t know is that she is easily replaceable. Easily. But you are acting emotional because, truth be told, you have grown totally dependent on her for home making stuff.

On Saturday morning, you want to humiliate her a bit and you go for the cleaning lady. You tell her to pick everything including her bras and everything to wash. The idea is to make Carol feel guilty that some other lady came and washed even some of her intimate stuff.

But you know Carol well, she is not the type to feel unnecessarily guilty. So you must find another way to hurt her and make her more responsible. The house is hers to keep in order.

But you notice that the modern woman is not keen on such...You wonder then, should you marry another lady, from a different class, who at least can do domestic stuff. Maybe you should ask your male friend how they have navigated the pettiness that comes with marriage.
