Feedback - Kenyans abroad could lose big in Kiambu West land scandal

I know about Ruaka Estate, and it hurts to imagine that the posh residential houses will be destroyed. It’s a shame there are criminals working at the Lands ministry.

{Virginia Wairimu, Norway}

This is ridiculous! Someone should be held accountable. We sacrifice so that we can invest back home. Sadly it’s a ‘home’ full of criminals and no justice.

Can President Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga figure this out, please!

{E Mwangi, United States}

Why isn’t there proper procedure for acquiring land in Kenya? This scam of fake title deeds is not new, but one would expect Lands Minister James Orengo to have sorted the problem by now.

{Kahugu, Switzerland}

It’s sad to hear what is going on and yet the Government is doing nothing. I am tired of this waste, fraud and corruption and would rather invest in the US.

{Wambugu Wanjohi, US}

Kenyans in the Diaspora should stop sending money home until this is sorted out. Today it’s Steve Mwangi and tomorrow it’s you. Kenya will only progress when wananchi respect private property.

{Kenneth Karumbo, US}

This is unacceptable. The Government should do something to protect these innocent investors who stand to lose a lot of their hard-earned money.

{James Karina, UK}

The Lands ministry is not doing much to eradicate the problem. My Thika plot was illegally sold and transferred through the Thika Lands Registry.

Despite the culprit being arrested and jailed, the ministry has failed to recover the title deed it illegally issued meaning there are two titles for one plot.

{John, Botswana}

I have worked in the US for a long time and pray that the title deed I acquired recently for a plot and a house within Mavoko County Council is genuine.

{Kituku Wa Nguku, US}

If there are Government employees involved in this scam, then the victims should sue the State for damages. We sacrifice a lot to invest back at home.
