We were better of being ignorant

There was a time when we thought of minister as being above reproach; individuals who could think and decide on our behalf. And we were happy.

We regarded the President as a demi-god who had ultimate authority over everything and everyone.

We revered church leaders, believing they had God’s ear. We took each day as it came, hoping tomorrow would bring better things.

Then came the age of the free press and technology. We are now privy to our leaders’ intentions and strategies before they even speak.

Now we bang tables and kick our cats in frustration because impunity has rendered us impotent. We are more stressed than ever.

Ignorance was bliss.
