Pomp and colour as couple with disabilities wed

The Kisumu Lutheran Church solemnised a rare wedding involving a couple living with  disabilities.

The marriage ceremony between 28-year-old Lorna Atieno and 33-year-old Vincent Anyumba was conducted by Pastor David Chuchu.

The joy in the couple’s face could not be undermined as their dreams of getting married came to pass with hundreds congregated at the church to get a glimpse of the couple.

Chuchu said the wedding was meant to integrate the disabled people in the community and to give them equal rights of being loved and loving.

“When the two made known their intentions of wanting to commit to each other, as a church we decided to give them maximum support by organising the wedding,” he said.

He  said he believed the couple would take good care of themselves  and promised that the church and respective  families of the two were in full support of the marriage and would assists where possible.

He revealed they granted them a micro-loan to start them off in their various ventures so as to earn a living.“The bride is a business lady while the groom is a shoe repairer and  carpenter,” he said.
