Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has been caught on tape threatening to unleash the Chinkororo militia.

Matiang’i who in the audio recording describes himself as a member of the Chinkororo, said he cannot be intimidated as he is a true warrior having been born near the border of Kisii and Narok counties.

"You all know we have Chinkororo here. And they are the ones protecting our border. What can someone tell me, a person who comes from the border? Is that what you want? Whoever is joking doesn't know Chinkororo. I am Enkororo from here," the CS spoke in Ekegusii at Etago during a Jubilee rally attended by Deputy President William Ruto.

The CS told the people of South Mugirango never to be scared by anyone having withstood attacks by the Abamanyi (Maasais?).

Matiang’i warned anyone plotting to sabotage the 26th October repeat poll that he will be deal with them while suggesting that he will ask the police to give way for the youths to deal with such person.

"Whoever wants to stop you from voting here, I am the one in charge of security and I will ask police to look the other side so that you slap that person," the CS says before asking the community to vote for Jubilee.

He said members of the Gusii community live and work in several parts of the country and warned the youth against heeding any call to sabotage the poll as that may jeopardise the security of their members outside Kisii region.
