Embu Governor Martin Wambora wants county governments to be allowed to manage school infrastructure.

Mr Wambora said some primary and secondary classrooms were in deplorable state.

Wambora said though management of school infrastructure was a national government function, governors could handle the role better as they have done with Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) and vocational training centres.

He spoke during the opening two ECDE classes in Mbeere South.
