Persons living with disabilities (PLWD) want the Sh1.8 billion allocated to people with special needs disbursed through the county governments.

Representatives of organisation dealing with PLWDs said many people with special needs have been unable to access the money and demanded that the fund be decentralised. Kenya Disability Parliamentary Association (KDPA) Chairman and nominated MP Isaac Mwaura asked county governments to help persons with disabilities to do business.

“These resources should be decentralised to the 47 counties. We have agreed these resources should be left at the National Council and not the parent ministry,” said Mwaura.
