Kenyan lawyers will begin practising across the six East African Community states in the next one year.
The Mutual Agreement Recognition which will operationalise the process is in its final stages, according to Ministry of East African Affairs.
The ministry's Integration Secretary Barrack Ndegwa (pictured) said EAC has opened the borders and member states have become one big family, and thus lawyers will be able to work in Kenya Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan.
