Uganda rout Tanzania in regional duel

Uganda hit Tanzania 49-19 to confirm their strength in the African Netball Zone Five Championship.

Uganda displayed tact and experience which saw them top in all the quarters.

In the first quarter, Tanzania managed three goals as Uganda led with 12 before the latter opened a 28-7, 38-12 and 49-19 lead in the remaining three.

But Tanzania forced a draw from the Kenya A side after recording a 13-9, 20-19, 31-29 and 39-39 at the whistle.

Kenyan teams (men and women) lost to the superior Ugandans with a huge margin on Wednesday.

In another women’s encounter Kenya B suffered a 41-38 loss to Kenya A. Kenya B will take on Tanzania this morning in a must-win encounter for either side.

The tournament ends today and the winners will proceed to Namibia for the African Championship slated for November 25.
