About the new 'Different' face of Kenya's representation in the Big Brother house.

Features

A not-so-well known actress and commercial model who admires the company of women, loves wine and kissing will represent Kenya at this year’s Big Brother Africa (BBA). Ella Wanjiku will be unveiled as Kenya’s representative to the Big Brother Africa Season 9 when the show starts on September 9. She is perhaps one of the less prominent contestants from Kenya to the Big Brother house. Her pick saves Kenya and the rest of Africa the agony (or pleasure, depending on whom you ask) of being glued to the screens to watch the artificially-enhanced body of socialite Vera Sidika, one of Kenya’s most famous daughters who got a shot to everyone’s attention after bleaching her skin and following it soon thereafter with an equally highly-publicised boob job. Sources close to Pulse also indicate that the other candidate is actor, model and fashion designer, Ephy Saint Vera’s killer body, of course courtesy of the magic of modern medicine, was expected to be the weapon of choice for a country that has never produced a winner in all the previous Big Brother editions. However, sources at the Big Brother house say that thanks to the famous blonde moments of her nemesis socialite Huddah in Big Brother 8 it would have been too scandalous to subject Kenyans to another continental ridicule. Instead of getting another stunting figure that flaunts her nudes and claims to travel in the company of Nigerian billionaires, Kenyans will have to cast their votes for a nondescript timid housemate who posts pictures online every time she is tipsy. So far, no one really seems to have an idea of exactly who this girl Ella is. Her name barely brings you any results after a google search. Her Instagram account is just full of pics of female fans. She has restricted her Facebook account from strangers. The few posts in her social media accounts help in painting her portrait as fun, girly and with the kind of lips you want to kiss any given time. She describes herself as “a girl with (a) big heart and an even bigger ambition...To leave the world better than I found it.” She says that she is “a dreamer and true believer in Karma” She loves girls, food, cake, wine, at least six-inch heels, dresses and believes in doing something crazy once in a while. Ella who has a sweet voice from renditions posted online has done two movies that have been aired on TV. She is a big fan of Wendy Kimani’s songs. The Mali TV drama actor will face contestants from 14 countries (This time round Angola has been replaced by newcomers Rwanda) in another season of drama, loads of laughter and tears where housemates are expected to be ruthless as they plot to seize power, keep it and impose their will on the rest of the house until the final judgement day. Mali is a TV show about an affluent family plagued by deep hidden issues that airs on DStv. If she wins, Ella will save Kenya, one of Africa’s dominant countries, the agony of waiting for over a decade to win the Big Brother Africa, a show that comes with its fair coverage of naked bodies, over-drinking, and sexual escapades. The first season of Big Brother Africa began on May 25, 2003 with 21-year-old student Alexander Holi makes a poor representation for Kenya. He was the third housemate to be evicted from Big Brother Africa 1. The next messenger 29-year-old Jeff Omondi, a novelist and marketer, proofed even more disastrous by becoming the second housemate to be evicted from Big Brother 2. In Big Brother three, radio presenter Sheila Kwamboka caused a stir when she claimed that she doesn’t know how to cook. A section of members of her community vowed to “discipline” her when she kissed a girl at the show. At Big Brother 4, Kenya was represented by Teddy and Jeremy. Teddy would become the first contestant to be evicted. Sheila Kwamboka managed to return for BBA 5 and managed to stay in the house until the last day of the show, so far one of Kenya’s greatest performances. In Big Brother 6, Kenya was represented by TV producer Nic and actress Millicent who is now an MCA in Nairobi County. Students Alek and Malonza together with Prezzo made a good presentation for Kenya in Season 7, with Prezzo emerging as the runners-up. In the following season, Kenya was represented by fashion designer Annabel and socialite Huddah. Socialite Huddah was such a catastrophic representation for Kenya that the she was even mentioned in a parliamentary discussion.
