French giants ready to battle Italy for Chelsea boss Antonio Conte if expected summer axe does come

Paris Saint-Germain want Antonio Conte if Chelsea do show him the door this summer.

The French giants are ready to hand the Italian a deal which would eclipse the £9.5million-a-year handed to him by the Blues after delivering last year’s title win in his debut season.

Conte, also linked with a return to the Italy job he quit after Euro 2016 to join Chelsea, has fallen out with the Stamford Bridge top brass after publicly criticising the club’s transfer policy and accusing them of failing to build from a position of strength.

As a result, he is widely expected to leave Chelsea, who will not retain their title but can still win the FA Cup and finish top four to ensure Champions League football again next season, at the end of the campaign.

PSG remain frustrated at not being able to make an impact in the Champions League — the competition that president Nasser Al-Khelaifi most wants to win.

Unai Emery’s side went out in the first knockout round last month, albeit to back-to-back winners Real Madrid.

Emery, appointed in 2016, is on course for a domestic Treble but is set to be shown the door when his contract expires at the end of this season.

PSG have been ambitious lately after the club was sold and put under new leadership. Such has seen the recruitment of stars in huge spending spree. Neymar Jr became the recent capture after he moved in the French capital in the most expensive transfers ever in Europe.

Other big names that moved to Parc De Princes include Angel Di Maria from Manchester United, David Luiz who left to go back to Chelsea, Edinson Cavani among many others.

Antonio has maintained that his desire is to see off his contract at Stamford Bridge. But judging by his friction and the Chelsea board; it can only be left for time to be the judge if the Italian will stay at Chelsea.
