Rumours: Gareth Bale linked to Chelsea, Valencia lining up £20m Mata swoop

Chelsea could be willing to splash out £150million on Real Madrid pair Gareth Bale and Raphael Varane in this summer's transfer window, according to Daily Express.

Daily Star claims that United will look to use goalkeeper David De Gea as bait to land Bale this summer, with Real interested in signing the 24-year-old Spaniard as a replacement for the long-serving Iker Casillas.

Valencia lining up £20m Juan Mata swoop

Elsewhere, Spanish giants Valencia are eyeing a £20m summer move for Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata.

Valencia owner Peter Lim and President Amadeo Salvo were on a trip to Manchester last weekend and have made it their mission to try and sign Mata.

Mata, 26, was outstanding for United in their win over Tottenham at Old Trafford but it was his first start in the Premier League for two months.
