Sergio Aguero could be set for Premier League stay

Sergio Aguero's desire to move up the all-time Premier League goalscoring charts could see him remain in England.

The Argentine's departure from Manchester City after a decade has been announced leaving him free to explore his options.

Aguero has been prolific since moving to the Premier League in 2011 and sits fourth on the all-time scoring list with 181 goals.

The 32-year-old is tempted by moves to some of Europe's heavyweights as the likes of PSG and Juventus both track the situation.

Those close to the striker though believe his appetite for goals in England's top flight will see him stay put, reports the Evening Standard.

Chelsea appear to be the most obvious destination should he remain in the Premier League.

The Blues and Thomas Tuchel are in the market for a centre-forward and the Argentine has a proven track record.

Aguero's decision to stay in England would be a blow to Harry Kane, who is also chasing goalscoring records.

The Tottenham striker is five years Aguero's junior meaning time is very much on his side. Kane has 162 goals, placing him eighth on the all-time list.

Kane faces a major decision this summer though as he continues to be linked with a north London exit.

City are one of the club's linked with his signature but a switch abroad, potentially to Real Madrid, has also been touted.

Alan Shearer's haul of 260 Premier League goals sets him apart from the competition and his total may be beyond Aguero, but not Kane if he continues to play in England.

The Argentine could still target Wayne Rooney's 208 total, which would place him second, or third place man Andy Cole who notched 187 times.
