Cristiano Ronaldo is considering a return to Manchester United

Ronaldo dropped huge hint about returning to Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a move back to Manchester United amid claims this is his final season with Juventus.

The Serie A champions are reportedly looking to trim their wage bill and Ronaldo is the club's highest-earner bringing home a staggering £28million each year - five times more than Paulo Dybala.

Ronaldo won't be short of suitors, despite being 35 years old.

And Manchester United may look to offer the Portuguese, who represented the club from 2003 to 2009, the opportunity to ply his trade for them once more.

Ronaldo has routinely been linked with a return to Man United.

But it was in 2014 that he perhaps dropped the biggest hint to date that he would one day love to play for the Red Devils again.

Speaking about his former club, Ronaldo said: "I love Manchester. Everyone knows that. Manchester is in my heart.

"The supporters are amazing and I wish I can come back one day."

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a big fan of Ronaldo, and would apparently relish the idea of being able to call upon his former team-mate.

Solskjaer actually spoke about Ronaldo in the summer when he was asked which of his 1999 treble-winning United team-mates he'd love to manage today.

After naming Roy Keane and Paul Scholes, he said: "Don't forget I played with Cristiano and he's the best player in the world - so I wouldn't mind having him in my team too."
