Furious Bruno Fernandes clashed with Victor Lindelof after the defender cost Manchester United in their Europa League semi-final against Sevilla.

Fernandes gave his side an early lead from the penalty spot but former Liverpool man Suso equalised before half-time.

United piled on the pressure in the second half but were unable to find a way through.

And Sevilla then found a shock winner as Lindelof was caught napping and unable to deal with a cross, allowing an unmarked Luuk de Jong to tap the ball beyond David de Gea.

Lindelof got his body position all wrong and appeared to pull out of an attempted clearance believing either De Gea or Wan-Bissaka would deal with the danger at the back post.

Instead, former Newcastle man De Jong made no mistake - and star man Fernandes was far from impressed with the Swedish defender.

He was seen squaring up to his team-mate and showing his disgust at the situation, whilst Lindelof seemed to take exception to his words as he shouted back inches from Fernandes' face.

Fernandes tried to downplay the clash after the game, telling BT Sport: "I think it's normal when you take a goal in the last 10 minutes.

"Everyone was mad. It's not about me or Victor, it's about the team. What's happened between me and Victor is normal. That's football, it happens.

"The most important now is we have to see the mistakes everyone made and look forward."

Their clash came as United's season came to an abrupt end with their dreams of adding silverware coming to a halt.

Lindelof's error and their poor defending for the opener will certainly give Solskjaer food for thought as he looks to strengthen his side in the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have prioritised Jadon Sancho and their attacking shortcomings were forthcoming against Sevilla in the final third.
