Sharon Mwendwa scored a hat-trick to help Engineering Brigade defeat Sixth Brigade 4-1 as the Chief of Defence Forces Women’s Football Cup entered its second day at the 3-Kenya Rifles Grounds in Lanet yesterday.
Mwendwa drew first blood in the 18th minute before Christine Kadogo levelled for the losers eight minutes later for a 1-1 halftime score.
In the second half, Engineering Brigade dominated their opponents from the onset and it did not come as a surprise when Mwendwa notched the second goal in the 54th minute and thereafter converted a penalty after a Sixth Brigade defender handled the ball in the box.
Pauline Mutisya finished the scoring spree with an 82nd minute hard drive.
Earlier, Kahawa Garrison hammered Kenya Navy 7-1, thanks to goals by Patricia Khamasi (2), Lucy Mukwana (3), Riziki Fondo and Lillian Shamalla, while Shufaa Salim scored the consolation goal for the losers.
