GUIDES: Volunteers here have disarming smiles

Getting settled in the stadium, especially during such a big tournament can be quite challenging. It is made even worse by the fact some of us do not speak French.

But trust the young faces here who come to our aid when we seem lost and unaware of many things. With warm, broad smiles, they are at your service. Clad in either green or blue t-shirts, the young men and women are kind when receiving and guiding fans, tournament officials as well as journalists.

They are truly the image of the host nation. From the airport, hostels, to the stadiums, their hospitality has been top-notch. Quite reassuring, especially when I recall the stone-faced guides during Kenyan Premier League matches. Jack Oguda, KPL boss, hope you are reading this.
