AFC Leopards have put a Sh700,000 prize tag on veteran defender James Situma. Situma is wanted by Tusker with only six months remaining on his contract. Leopards Secretary General George Aladwa has said they have asked the brewers to part with the amount if they want the player. “This is the money we paid to sign defender Joseph Shikokoti from Tusker two years ago and we believe Situma is worth the same amount now,” he said. Leopards bought Situma for Sh800,000 from Sofapaka last season.

The former KPL champions have been on the trail of the player for a long time and Sofapaka chairman Elly Kalekwa is glad to have captured his target. "We have been following him for quite some time now and we are glad he has agreed to a two-year deal. He brings plenty on the table at Sofapaka; hopefully more options for the coach," he said. Sofapaka start training on Monday for the Confederations Cup and the Kenyan Premier League.
