Sevens team must redeem their image in Hong Kong

After faltering in the Adelaide leg and getting to their lowest point of the season, it is now time for the national Sevens team to show they have the mettle to be a great side.

The National rugby Sevens side failed to pick a single point in the just-concluded fifth leg of the IRB series after their best ever start in the past four legs.

However, it is always said it is not how hard you fall but how you pick yourself up after falling. Ayimba and his charges are now deep in the trenches of disappointment but this must not act as an anchor but rather an added motivation to work even harder.

The team must not doubt their abilities but must take this as a learning experience for the next challenge in Hong Kong on Friday.

They have a proved they have the most experience and can beat any team in the circuit. All that is left is getting the right blend in the squad and fight to bring the trophy home.

Coach Benjamin Ayimba should not let the pressure exerted by fans to weigh him down. He must work hard to win back the confidence fans have had in the Sevens team.

The team must not relent in their quest for glory because it is the whole country that shines whenever they shine. Come Friday, the team should wear their jerseys proudly and put aside any other talk outside the pitch, get on the grounds and excel.
