Expatriate retaliation at NGO?

When on March 10 a "frustrated NGO worker" joined the list of readers who have complained about expatriates with dubious credentials, PointBlank asked Immigration Minister Otieno Kajwang’ what steps were being taken to protect Kenyan jobs and dignity (Unwanted NGO expert tease).

"Expatriates should not just be competitive but should have an edge over local staff," wrote the NGO worker at Christian Children’s Fund, an international charity

However, the aid worker now alleges that a senior expatriate staff at the centre of the complaint has turned to harassing and retrenching more qualified Kenyan workers. He considers them a threat to his job after PointBlank published the allegations.

"Nicknamed ‘Clearing and Forwarding’ given his penchant for passing on all work to his more qualified local subordinates, the clueless official has now decided to teach Kenyan staff a lesson and says he is untouchable," he says.

The frustrated aid worker hopes Mr Kajwang’ will take a keen interest on this expatriate problem.
