First it was a local daily with an April Fools Day prank that Uganda had surrendered its claim of ownership over Migingo Island. Then, not being one to miss the boat, last week Foreign Affairs Minister Moses Wetang’ula announced that the rocky Lake Victoria island was Kenya’s for the taking after Uganda apparently ‘officially’ agreed to let go.
Considering President Yoweri Museveni’s utterances last year, which PointBlank promptly parodied, perhaps Wetang’ula would have clarified if the water surrounding ‘Mijinjo’ also belonged to Kenya alongside the island
