Ken Rapudo to Amber Ray: You are the best thing that happened to me

Despite rumours that Ken Rapudo and Amber Ray are at loggerheads, the businessman on Friday took time to pen a birthday message to ‘Mama Africanah’.

In his post, Rapudo described Amber as the best thing that happened to him, going ahead to ask her to enjoy her birthday and send him the bill.

“When the universe brought us together, it was the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Wishing you the most wonderful birthday yet.

“Happy birthday mama @africanahrapudo. Pop champagne watumie tajiri bill,” he wrote.

In a recent interview with Standard Entertainment, Rapudo spoke highly of Amber downplaying an incident that almost marked the end of their union.

He described the influencer as his ideal woman; one who is selfless and loves unconditionally.

“I got myself an ideal woman who, regardless of any situation, I love. She’s a good chef in the house, a psychologist during tough times and a goddess while at work. I know when she loves, she loves unconditionally.

“I’d like to make everyone understand that an isolated incident doesn’t mean my status in our relationship has taken a different turn. I’m raising a young family and I will never advocate for domestic violence,” he said when asked about an altercation involving Amber.

How they met

In an interview with Obinna earlier this year, Rapudo said he met Amber at DNM Park, Mountain View, in 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, at that time, Rapudo chose not to pursue a romantic relationship with Amber because he was already in a different relationship.

He explained, "I first met her while I was in another relationship, so I decided to give her space. I did like her, but I didn't want to complicate things with my current relationship. After a while, I became single, and I tried to reconnect with her, but she was in a relationship herself, so I backed off again," Rapudo, who is a businessman, added.

Eventually, Rapudo realised that Amber had different intentions when she introduced him to one of her friends. He shared, "She invited me to have lunch with her and her friends. During that time, she wanted to introduce me to one of her friends."

Later on, Amber invited Rapudo to an event she organised. However, he attended without knowing that she was still in a relationship, and ended up seeing her with her boyfriend at the event.

After some time, Amber became single and Rapudo ‘shot his shot’.
