Kenyan chef Dorky Dorcas breaks world record, makes three chapattis in two minutes

Kenyan chef and content creator Dorky Dorcas has set a new benchmark in culinary speed, breaking the Guinness World Record for the fastest time to make three chapatis.

Dorcas completed the challenge in 2 minutes and 26 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 3 minutes and 10.22 seconds held by Ugandan YouTuber Raymond Kahuma.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Dorcas had a full support crew on hand.

Two people held stopwatches above their heads, meticulously timing each stage to ensure the record was officially broken.

Reflecting on her journey, Dorcas said, "Shout out to Clinton, who came to support me. For those who don't know, I did three attempts. In the first one, I didn't finish. In the second attempt, I didn't cook one chapati properly. But this was my third and final attempt. By then, the fear was gone, and I stopped tensing."

Dorcas' record is currently pending official verification by Guinness World Records.

The record attempt followed strict Guinness World Records guidelines, covering the full process of making chapati: mixing the dough, rolling it out, and cooking all three chapatis.

After several tries, Dorcas succeeded on her final attempt.

This culinary feat comes shortly after Truphena Muthoni set a Guinness World Record for hugging a tree for a consecutive 72 hours, adding to a string of recent Kenyan record-breaking achievements.
