 Business Mogul Chris Kirubi dead.

Tributes have poured in for departed business mogul Christopher John Kirubi who died at 80 at his home after a long battle with cancer. According to a statement released by his family, Kirubi died at his home on Monday, June 14, 2021, at around 1 pm, surrounded by his family.

Until his death, the businessman, entrepreneur, and industrialist, popularly known as ‘DJ CK’, was the chairman of Capital Group Limited and a director at Centum Investment Company, a business conglomerate where he was the largest individual shareholder.

The businessman, who was an alumnus of the Friends School Kamusinga and a mentor to many, has been mourned by different people, including Centum Investment Company that eulogized him as a prominent businessman who was passionate and affectionate and was known to them as ‘chairman.’

Deputy President William Ruto also mourned Kirubi, describing him as one of the country’s most visible business personality who was an irrepressible boardroom operative, a media personality, developer and investor whose interests traversed multiple sectors and enterprises.

ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi also sent his condolences to the family, describing him as an illustrious businessman who spoke candidly on matters of national importance and the economy, a true patriot who told you as it is without blinking, witty, humorous, and an avid golfer.

Jambo Pay CEO Danson Muchemi mourned the death of Kirubi, who he describes as his friend and mentor.

“It is sad that CK has gone to rest eternally.  Chris remained a prolific entrepreneur to the end. So much we learnt from his journey as an entrepreneur. He has built a lot of value for our society through hard work. I will forever cherish the time and invaluable business advice from him. Rest in peace Chris,” he said.

Social media users have praised the late businessman for having the best business advice saying they will miss him dearly.

Kirubi has left behind two children, Robert Kirubi and Mary-Ann Musangi.
