Azziad Nasenya to host new show that will air across nine TV stations

When it rains, it certainly pours. Azziad Nasenya can relate to this following her massive success barely a year after she became an online sensation. Success has been knocking on her door day by day despite the critics. Word on the street has it that the 20-year-old is set to host a new show dubbed ‘Concert Nyumbani’ alongside seasoned television personality Mwaniki Mageria. According to the directors of the upcoming show, Eugene Mbugua and Enos Olik, the much-anticipated show will air starting this Sunday at 2 pm.

“Concert Nyumbani is produced by Documentary & Reality Television Limited and will be hosted by internet sensation @azz_iad & seasoned television personality @nikimags,” reads a press statement from Mbugua.

It is believed that the show will air across 9 TV stations in Kenya.

According to the directors, Concert Nyumbani is a musical show that has been put together to celebrate heroes who’ve emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“With the help of the @kenyafilmcommission, I called together a team of some of the most talented people in Kenya to work on a documentary and musical show celebrating heroes who’ve emerged from the corona pandemic. Concert Nyumbani, the biggest entertainment television event ever on Kenyan TV will air this Sunday 19/7/2020 at 2 p.m. simultaneously on KTN, NTV, K24, KBC, Switch TV, Metropol TV, Y24, TV47, and PPP TV,” Mbugua added.

It does not stop there for the communication student at Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) will also host a cooking show alongside Comedian David Oyando aka Mulamwa.

This comes less than a month after the TikTok sensation made her debut in popular drama series Selina. Welcoming her to the cast of the Swahili telenovela that airs on Maisha Magic East, actor Pascal Tokodi shared a photo with the fast raising star on his Instagram page.

“Welcome to the family Azz,” wrote Pascal, who plays Nelson in the TV show. In a separate post, Azziad could also not her excitement in making the debut.

Her debut attracted the attention of celebrated actress Catherine Kamau, popularly known as Kate the Actress. In her post, Kate urged the naysayers to keep it to themselves if they cannot support Azziad whom she said has worked hard all her life to be where she is at the moment.

“Hii app inaweza pea mtu depression, you just wake up to hate on a girl that has worked so hard for her spotlight. Azziad Nasenya has been on stage all her school life, the universe has finally conspired in her favour, shut up and wait for yours #AzziadOnSelina,” the mother of two tweeted.
