11 Kenyan video vixens making a killing in the music industry

There was a time when girls would feature on music videos for free. Back then, it was all about being seen around celebrities and enjoying the trappings of association that come with it in the showbiz world.

Today, the video vixen business is a money-spinner that has modelling agencies and freelance models making good returns from artistes and their managements.

On average, a video vixen is paid Sh20,000 for appearing on a video, if they are playing a major role. Others get about Sh5,000 depending on the musician behind the project.

Some such as Aggie whom we all remember from Sauti Sol’s (featuring Nyashinski) Short and Sweet are in such high demand for having perfected the art.

It is not just about shaking the booty, video vixen business lately has more to do with choreography and creative acting, an art that has now seen fresh talent join the industry. Here are just some of the rising Kenyan video vixens.

Cindypierra Mukami Muthoni

Cindy is a budding vixen who has graced video shoots, working with many famed artistes. Some of the biggest music videos she has graced include Murderer by Calvo Mistari (featuring H_art the Band and Bobby Mapesa) and Big Pin’s Ginene.

She has also worked with Timmy T-Dat, Noti Flow, Wyre, Sudi, Johnny Skani, Dufla and Eric Omondi.

Cindy’s career hit a higher point after she was nominated for the Pulse Music Video Awards in the competitive Video Vixen of the Year category for the song Usisahau.

Her unique away of balancing life as a model and a video vixen has given it a unique lifestyle twist.

Hebron Getachew Bokuretsion

She is the girl in Ongeza Volume, the popular music video by Nameless. Octopizzo also featured her in his hot jam Sing Along.

Being one of the most sought-after video vixens this year, Hebron has also featured in Melo by Lengana and above all, she was the envy of all after she performed with Rick Ross on stage when he did the Kenyan tour.

Anastasia Ndegwa

Anastasia is a diva who oozes class and an upscale vibe when called upon to do so. Her tall model figure gives her an edge against many when it comes to music videos.

She has been featured in numerous video clips among them Mungu Wetu Sote by Otile Brown, Run Ting by King Kaka (featuring Fena Gitu), Shida by Magix Enga (featuring Khaligraph), Nilivyo by Madini Classic (featuring Vivian Kenya), Time by Beka the Boy, Chum Chum by Hensmalaw and Karorero by Qboy (featuring Naiboi).

Viona Monig

Viona has become a celebrity in her own right being one of the popular models and video vixens in Mombasa.

She has featured in Mombasa’s biggest artistes’ videos including Timbulo’s  jam Mshumaa, Chikuzee’s Kichunguu, Diana Mayaka’s sensational jam Tetemeka and Danny Millz’s music videos.

Also from the Coast, Queen Koki is a new sensational video vixen who is making a killing out of her acting skills.

She has a Coastal vibe that has cemented her spot in the music scene. The petite beauty, who is also popularly known as Cindy Kenya, has featured in one of Kenya’s biggest songs amongst them Hi by Otile Brown, Embe Dodo by Arrow Bwoy and Chocha by P-Unit.

She has also worked with Tanzanian artistes such as Mbosso on his new jam Nipepee.

Snazzy

Snazzy is arguably one of the most popular vixens Nairobi has produced lately. She has a good fashion sense, which when coupled with her gorgeous looks makes her a winning ticket in many music video offers.

Probably the highest paid vixen this year, she has featured in videos across the nation and the region.

One of the popular videos she has featured is KRG’s Get With it (featuring Redsan). She is the girl in Ngori by Khaligraph Jones, Aslay’s Ananikomoa and Timmy T-Dat’s Pogna Matin amongst others.

Cynthia Achieng

Cynthia Achieng aka Joisi_J has starred in various videos including Me I by P Unit, Khaligraph’s Shida, Tokodi’s Songa, Chikuzee’s Kichungu, Oliver’s Supuu and Timbulo’s Mshumaa.

Samirah Bahati

This charming beauty who joined the art about two years ago has taken the industry by storm.

Her tattoo is one feature to ogle as as witnessed from her videos working with Timmy T-Dat on Zile Mbili and a number of Khaligraph Jones projects.

Eve Wanjiru

Eve, also popularly known as Lunah Deeve, is the reigning Pulse Music Video Awards (PMVA) Vixen of the Year having won the award during last year’s edition.

Since the, she has worked with some of the top Kenyan music acts among them Khaligraph Jones as well as new kids on the block such as Tunji and Barrack Jaccuzi.

Dosah Bunny

Dosah is another fan favourite in Nairobi and is well-known among Pulsers due to her huge Instagram following, having worked with notable artistes like Naiboi and Jegede.

She also doubles up as a social influencer and a fashion-preneur.
