Sources told The Grapevine that the county chief recently bought a prime plot in Nairobi’s Central Business District worth Sh260 million and a farm worth some Sh500 million.
The politician has done all this within a short time, a matter that has puzzled both his associates and voters. The governor’s monthly salary is slightly over sh1 million per month.
An ally of the Governor said the county chief is busy amassing wealth for fear of sinking into political oblivion after 2022 elections.

A youthful MP on Monday was a topic of discussion among his colleagues, after he showed up at the tail-end of a committee session that took the whole day to sign the form of sitting allowances.
The lawmakers joked that their counterpart must have been following their live proceedings on TV and only made an appearance when he know it was coming to a close.
