Standard Media Group PLC to host career fair tomorrow

Players in the education sector and experts will tomorrow hold a career fair aimed at addressing challenges students face when selecting courses to pursue in university.

The objective is to guide the students on career choices whether in universities, middle-level colleges or technical institutions.

The fair themed “Booked for Life”, which will be at Kenyatta International Convention Centre, is organised by Standard Media Group PLC in partnership with local universities, colleges and leading recruiters.

The event was informed by the large number of students who, for lack of information and guidance, face countless hurdles while applying for courses after high school.

Shepherd Mburu, a business development manager at Kenya Institute of Professionals Studies, says students are not equipped with skills in course selection early enough. “Not all students are able to choose career paths even after completing secondary education due to lack of information and proper guidance while still at their formative education levels. Because of this, the students keep hopping from one course to another trying to find their career paths,” says Mburu.

The event will be live on KTN News.
