Teachers yesterday refused to sign performance contracts as demanded by their employer saying it was unregulated.

Speaking at Masinde Muliro Stadium, Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers National Chairman Omboko Milemba termed the move ill advised as there was a teacher shortage.

Milemba said it needed proper legislation, which was a long process and should not be enforced on short notice by the Teachers Service Commission.
