The ground-breaking ceremony by President Uhuru Kenyatta for the new terminal at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport yesterday was a milestone.
JKIA’s history goes way back to March 1958 when Kenya’s last colonial governor, Sir Evelyn Baring, opened Embakasi Airport. After Independence in 1963, the facility was re-named Nairobi International Airport in a bid to more accurately reflect the city it served.
